We are Panasonic Cycle Technology Europe, and cycling is part of our DNA.
From the very beginning, our story has been closely connected to bicycles. Our founder, Konosuke Matsushita, began his career working in a bicycle shop and sold his very first bicycle at the age of twelve.
In 1923, driven by enthusiasm and working with very limited resources, he developed and sold a bicycle lamp. Years later, in 1952, he built his first bicycle factory. This pioneering spirit led Panasonic to become one of the first companies to introduce an electrically powered bicycle to the market in 1980.
Since then, Panasonic has grown to become the absolute market leader in Japan, not only in bicycles but also in pedelecs. In Europe, North America, and many other regions around the world, Panasonic Cycle Technology supplies advanced e-bike systems and has shaped and led this market for many years and now with the new GXM e-bike system Panasonic has laid another milestone towards the future.
